TUTORIAL - SEASONS   Tutorial – How to garden   You will need: *Sims 2 *Sims 2 Seasons   The easy way There will always be people who like the easy way, in that case; you can give your Sims badges for gardening. How? Type in the boolprop code in the cheatwindow in the neighborhood  (boolprop testingcheatsenabled true). Go to the lot of your Sim and hold shift whilst clicking on your Sim. Now search for ‘Badgejuicer’ underneath the ‘Spawn’ menu. Now you will find a small toy boat near your Sim. Click it and give your Sim the badges you’d like to give.   It is much more fun to learn it yourself without the cheats, getting the badges on your own.   The harder/more fun way If you’d like to do it the ‘real’ original way, you can easily follow these steps.   The steps (for gardening):   Step 1: Build yourself a nice greenhouse, this makes it possible to keep growing vegetables and fruit also during the winter. You can find the tools for the greenhouse in the build mode, garden center, gardening. Don’t forget to place a roof over the greenhouse (and place a door). Tip: place garden lamps and sprinklers in the greenhouse! This saves you a lot of work.   Step 2: Put some pleasant earth dirt in your greenhouse, now you can start with the gardening!   Step 3: Fertilize the ground! If you’d like to start immediately with the gardening, you can buy fertilizer for 10 simoleons a piece. Are you a more patient person, then you can collect some compost for a while, and then decide to pour it on the ground (no further costs, you only have to buy a composting apparatus).   Step 4: Go ahead and start sowing. Choose the fruit or vegetable you’d like to grow. Without badges, you only can grow tomatoes (8 simoleons a piece). When you increase your badges, the more choice you will get in the growing of plants.   Step 5: Take good care of your plants! During the time that your fruit/vegetables are not ready yet to harvest (about 5-6 simdays) it is very important to take good care of your plants, to make sure that they give good fruits. You have to remove the weed every day. Step 6: Keep an eye on your plants. If you haven’t installed a sprinkler (against advice), you best can give your plants a little water every day. Make sure you repeat this once every day, otherwise your plants may die because of dehydration.   Step 7: Keep vermin and bugs away! It is important to give your plants a good living environment, this cannot be if they are subjected to bugs that eat the leaves or maybe the whole plant! Your Sims can keep the bugs away to spray the plants. You can also buy the Lovely Ladybug Loft to keep the bugs away. If your plants are happy, so are you!   Step 8: Time to harvest! The best part of it all is ofcourse the moment that you can harvest all the goods after all that hard work! Its very easy: click on the plants and choose ‘harvest’ if you would like to keep the fruit/vegetable or choose ‘sell produce’ if you’d like the simoleons instead.     Why all the work? Ofcourse it’s a way to make money for your sim, this way your Sim will never be out of your sight, and the whole family can help with this job! But wait, there’s more! If you garden a lot, you will get the most wanted gardening badges! Increasing from: Nothing-Bronze-Silver-Gold. What use is it? Accept for the beautiful badge.. see here what you can do with which badge:   Nothing-Bronze-Silver-Gold If you do not have any badges, you can still: -          Buy compost (10,-) -          Use compost (if you have a composter) -          Grow tomatoplant (8,-) -          Take care of plants and nurture them -          Give them water -          Throw them away -          Make compost (composter)   Nothing-Bronze-Silver-Gold You are starting to learn, your first efforts are being rewarded. As soon as you receive the bronze plaque, these new possibilities are available: -          Strawberries (12,-) -          Cucumber (12,-)   Nothing-Bronze-Silver-Gold You are almost tasting the gold… the gold fever is rising, but be patient! If you keep up the good work you will definitively reach the gold! Now you have already reached: -          Eggplant (20,-) -          Peppers (16,-) -          Pole beans (16,-)   Nothing-Bronze-Silver-Gold Now you have reached the top! You can count yourself to the highest class of gardeners. As special gift you’ll now get: -          The possibility to talk to your plants/trees!       Want to make a plantsim? Normal way: make sure your plants and trees have a lot of bugs in them, spray them. After a while, your spraytank will explode and your Sim will have turned into a plant sim. Cheat: with the boolprop code (boolprop testingcheatsenabled true), hold shift while clicking on the trees and plants, choose ‘invest with bugs’ and spray the plants. Make sure that you don’t have the ladybug house. If you repeat this long enough, the tank will explode and you’ve created a plantsim.     What not to do with seasons: 1: Put up a lightning distractor up on the roof of your house: your sims will catch fire or will be electrocuted. If your Sim has the Knowledge aspiration, he/she would like to be electrocuted by lightning.   2: A snowball fight of 2 hours in wintertime. Your sims will be frozen. Let your Sims sit at the fire place and warm them up with hot chocolate milk.   3: A waterballoon fight, same reason as meantioned above.   4: Too long in a bubblebath, they will get burnt.   5: (only for plantsims): Take a job longer than 12 hours, your sim will dehydrate.
