Sometimes it is advisable to renew a whole neighbourhood or a house where you accidentally removed the mailbox.

Also defective downloads can cause your game to crash. Removal of your folder Downloads will also remove some objects that came with the original Sims installation.

Here you'll find folders of neighbourhoods as they were when you bought te game.

The most common location for these folders is:
C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims

a.  Renew a neighbourhood: Remove the folder of the neighbourhood and replace it with the extracted download. All self-build houses and Sims in that neighbourhooh are lost. b.  Remove all self-build houses from the neighbourhood Remove the folder Houses from the UserData folder for that particular neighbourhood and replace it with the folder Houses from the extracted Download. c.  Replace 1 house only because f.e. you removed the mailbox Example: You wish to replace Simslane 4 from neighbourhood 2 Remove House04 from folder UserData2\Houses and replace it with the house from the extracted download UserData2.

When your game crashes due to faulty downloads you can bring your game back to the state of new by replacing the folder Downloads with the extracted folder Downloads on this site. In case you also placed downloads in the folder GameData, you must als replace that folder with the extracted folder Game Data (Download GameData.part1 and GameData.part2 and extract by rightclicking on part1 only) Extraction: You must have winrar (free download from www.winrar.nl) Download whatever you need from this site Rightclick on the pile of booksct extract to ..... (name already shows, such as GameData) A new, extracted, folder will appear
